The Eye
The cornea is responsible for 70% of light refraction. The retina contains rods (contrast sensitive) and cones (colour sensitive). The fovea contains only cones, and by about 30° from the fovea there are only rods.
Sunglasses should transmit 10-15% of light only, and should filter out blue light.
