Trent 700
Trent -700 engines are comprised of:
- low pressure compressor stage (1 stage, the fan)
- intermediate pressure compressor stage (8 stages)
- high pressure compressor stage (6 stages)
- combustion chamber (24 nozzles, 2 igniters)
- high pressure turbine stage (1 stage)
- intermediate pressure turbine stage (1 stage)
- low pressure turbine stage (4 stages)
They are flat-rated at ISA+15°C to 71,100 lbs thrust.
The low speed rotor (N1) consists of a fan connected to a low pressure turbine. The intermediate speed rotor (N2) consists of an intermediate pressure compressor connected to an intermediate turbine. The high speed rotor (N3) consists of a high pressure compressor connected to a high pressure turbine.
At low rpm valves open to dump air into the fan stream to prevent stall during start.
