Maximum Altitude


The FMC predicted maximum altitude is the lowest of:

  • maximum certified altitude (structural)
  • thrust limited altitude - the altitude at which sufficient thrust is available to provide a minimum rate of climb
  • buffet or manueuver limited altitude - the altitude at which a margin of 0.2g/33° bank (FAA) or 0.3g/40° bank (CAA/JAA) exists prior to buffet
