Radio and radio navigation equipment

All aircraft within controlled airspace in the Hong Kong FIR are required to carry Mode 3/A and Mode C transponders.

Aircraft in commercial air transport operations in the Hong Kong FIR, and above 5,700 kg or that can carry more than 19 passengers, must have TCAS II equipment. All aircraft within Hong Kong RVSM airspace must be equipped with TCAS II.
