2. Interpretation
Chief Inspector | chief inspector of accidents appointed by the CAD |
Reportable Accident | the time from embarkation for flight to disembarkation and: a. any person suffers death or serious injury; or b. the aircraft incurs damage or structural failure; or c. the aircraft is missing |
Serious Injury | an injury sustained by a person in a reportable accident which: a. requires hospitalisation for more than 48hrs within 7 days of the accident; or b. results in bone fracture; or c. involves lacerations causing nerve, muscle or tendon damage; or d. involves internal injury; or e. involves 2nd or 3rd degree burns to more than 5% of the body |
3. Application of regulations
These regulations apply only to civil aviation.
