Engine Driven Generators
The engine driven generators (2), driven by IDGs, supply 115 kVA 3 phase 115/200 volt 400 hertz electrical power. The APU generator produces the same output as the engine driven generators.
The generators are each driven by a GCU, which:
- controls the frequency and voltage of generator output
- protects the network by controlling the associated GLC
Each engine driven generator supplies its associated bus via its GLC. Input from both the GCU and the ECMU is required to close a GLC, although once the GLC is closed, the ECMU is no longer required (the GLC is a self holding relay).
