Radio Management Panel
Also from: RMP
There are 3 RMPs. Any RMP can tune any radio but normally:
- RMP 1 is dedicated to VHF 1
- RMP 2 is dedicated to VHF 2
- RMP 3 is dedicated to VHF 3, HF 1, or HF 2
Can be used for tuning of the navaids in both FMGCs fail. RMP 1 allows tuning of VOR/DME 1, ADF 1, and either ILS, while RMP 2 allows tuning of VOR/DME 2, ADF 2, and either ILS. To access backup tuning mode, the NAV key must be pressed, and the navaid tuning capability of the respective FMGC is lost until NAV is pressed again. Radio communication operates normally in standby nav tuning mode.
SATCOMM phone numbers can be selected from MCDU 3 only.
Failures
A blank display with no lights indicates an RMP failure. There is no ECAM caution for this. The failed unit must be turned off.
