ILS Approach


May be conducted to CAT I or CAT II minimums, depending on configuration.


Check points

  • 1500' RA system tries to engage highest capability
  • 800' RA system freezes highest capability, not allowing upgrades

Sequence

Cat II

  • Push APP to arm GS and LOC modes and the APPR2 status annuniciator
  • Localiser capture, and then glideslope capture
  • APPR2 status annunciator becomes active (green) below 1500' RA

Cat I

  • Push APP to arm GS and LOC modes and the APPR1 status annuniciator
  • Localiser capture, and then glideslope capture
  • APPR1 status annunciator becomes active (green) below 1500' RA

Cat I, but with RA set rather than BARO

  • APPR1 ONLY amber annunciator is displayed
  • Additionally, green APPR1 status annunciator is displayed below 1500' RA
