Converts AC to DC. Three TRUs are the main DC power sources whenever there is AC power. TRU 1 is inside the LICC. TRU 2 is inside the RICC. TRU ESS (essential) is inside the EICC.
115VAC 400Hz → TRU → 28V DC 300A
Control panel
Normal operation is with the 3 TRU switches in the AUTO position. With the switch OFF, the respective contactor opens.
QRH
Switch off if the corresponding battery is discharging, if the TRU has failed, or if the AC or DC ESS bus is off.
