Flight Control System

Uses hydraulic actuators (PCUs) to control flight control surfaces. A PBIT is used to check FCM, P-ACE, and SF-ACE functionality, and has a validity of 20hrs. A hydraulic PBIT checks functionality of PCUs and takes 1 minute to complete.

Modes

NormalFCM provides software based airspeed gain schedules and control limits to the P-ACE
airspeed augmentation
angle of attack
elevator thrust compensation
rudder flight authority
yaw damper / turn coordination

DirectFCM is removed from the control loop (eg. during loss of airspeed data)
control limits default to hardware values set in the P-ACE
